I cannot believe that there is less than 2 weeks until the Triathlon; I am starting to wonder if I have done enough. I am sure I have done enough to finish, but I would like to have a good race overall.
I was at the pool on Monday and did a 1km swim for the second time, and it felt pretty good. I was shattered at the end of it though, and it looks like I have a lot of work to do before I can move up to a greater Tri distance.
I am a bit concerned about the bike portion though. I have a recently bought bike that is quite nice, but it is no good for racing. There is far too much suspension on it, and most of the energy expended seems to get lost in the shocks. So, I am trying to track down a cheap old road bike on Used Victoria. I have found a couple for under $75.00. So, we'll see. Also, there may be a Giant Cypress DX for sale in the near future.
The donations are still coming in, and I am happy to say that we have reached $225.00 so far. That means we only have $75.00 to reach my goal; however, it would be nice to far surpass it.
