I went into final preparation mode yesterday with an early trip to the Chiropractor (I think we are almost done on that end of things), and I dropped my bike off for a tune up. I decided that I would stick with my bike for the time being as there is just not enough time to find a cheap road bike. However, I think the days for this bike are numbered.
I picked up the bike after work, and things felt pretty good. I bought my bike, and get it tuned, at Fort Street Cycle. Consider them if you are looking for a new bike, or even if you need a new shop for tune ups.
This morning Duncan and I took the toolbox out to perform the final, final tune up. This consisted of taking off my fenders and bike rack. Duncan, as you can imagine, was integral to this process. It is amazing how the geekiest looking bike on the planet will become slightly less geeky if you remove the fenders.
I am going to hand in my fundraising cash, and pick up my race package, but you can still donate online.
